The Effect of Facebook in Today's Value Change

Facebook one of the most influential site on our society today. Maybe many of us do have a Facebook account. But what really is the purpose of having one? Sometimes we do things just to be in you know the go with the flow, just to avoid being called "outdated". I was already in third year highschool then but I still not know about these things. I was not fond of playing games on computer nor joining these so called networking sites. But as the time came we had a subject about computer I had no choice I had to learn these things and also our only way to communicate with our teacher was through the computer. So after our class I'd run to the nearest computer shop because I'm the only one in class who doesn't have a networking site such as Friendster, My Space , Gmail, Ymail etc. Because it was my first time to handle computers I really had no idea what to do good thing I found one of my classmates and because there is still no vacant unit I asked him to help me. I was a little bit shy because he might laugh at me but he didn't that was one good thing. From then I don't know what happened I became addicted in computers. Until now I have my own Facebook account and I also joined other sites. Facebook is I guess one way to communicate with our long distance family, friends and others. This also make us receive news and informations faster with just a matter of seconds. Having an account like Facebook is like being updated to early happenings in our society. As of today Facebook is being used by police to track criminals. It is very useful because many people using it and because of that many people are being aware about the criminals. Some people also use Facebook in doing criminal acts. We have heard of young girls being raped by their chatmates in Facebook. So this only mean that we should balance our use of this. We should use it wisely and not to trust everything you see or meet in the site. We should always remember that everything that's excess is bad.

Is It A Boy or A Girl?

The condition where the person has an extra sex organ can be called Hermaphrodite or intersex. Hermophroditos is the son of the Greek God Hermes and Goddess Aphrodite. According to people he was once a handsome young man who attracted the love of Naiad nymph "Salmakis". Salmakis prayed to the Gods that the two of them should be united forever. In answer to her prayer their two forms were merged as one. At the same time her spring acquired the property of making men who bathed in it's water soft and effeminate.
The condition can be explained as a result of chromosomal malfunction. There is an extra Y chromosome in a pair of gonosomes(sex chromosome). The person has biological features of both male and female characteristics. Some people do not identify themselves as either male or female.

A BEAUTIFUL MIND

"The greatest discovery of my life is when I solved the mysterious equations of love." This line was from the film a beautiful mind. We watch the film for our Psychology class I never thought that it would affect me that much. The film was surely an inspirational one, it was based on the life of American Mathematician John Nash. The film focused on him being a mathematical genius and his struggle with paranoid schizophrenia. I like the movie so much it's not because Russell Crowe is the lead star and he acts so great but with the story of the movie. At first it is very challenging for the viewers to determine who or which is true or imaginary. I will recommend this film to my friends. The story tells us that even we don't know which is true or not we should trust in our self. I adore John Nash because even though he has paranoid schizophrenia he still lived his life to the fullest. Many people called him psycho but he doesn't mind he just pursue his life with what he really wants and with his family. He really deserve the Nobel Prize award.

Manila Hostage Taking Crisis

This is a clip from the hottest issue our country is going through right now. The Manila hostage taking crisis where eight people were killed and nine were injured. The incident happened on August 23, 2010 at the Quirino Grand Stand where former police Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza hijacked a tour bus carrying 25 people (20 tourists and a tour guide all from Hong Kong and 4 Filipinos) in attempt to get his job back. He said that he was summarily dismissed without the opportunity to defend himself, and that all he wanted was a fair hearing. After about ten hours into the siege, the Filipino bus driver was able to get out of the bus by falling through the driver's bus window and was shown into television saying everyone is dead before being whisked away by police. This result to shoot out and watched by millions on live television news and took around 90 minutes. At the end, eight hostages and the hostage taker were dead and nine were injured. The Hong Kong Government soon issued a "black" travel alert for the Philippines. The assault on the tour bus to rescue was widely regarded as bungled and incompetent. The Philippine government admitted the errors and promised to investigate and report it all to the People's Republic of China and Hong Kong SAR governments.

Sincere condolences for the family of the victims. We can't blame the Hong Kong government for issuing a 'black" travel alert for our country but let just all hope that they accept our apologies and realize that not all Filipinos are like former senior inspector Mendoza. We can't blame no one because we're not in their positions we don't know what really happened and what are they really thinking back then although we watched it live on the television news. That's all I can say right now let's just wait for further investigations.

Sad Story: The Bridge Master and His Son

This is one of our topics in psychology class. Our professor told us about this story of a moral dilemma. It was a week after our lecture about this when my classmates share this video in my account in facebook. As I watch this I can't stop my tears from falling. It is really one moral dilemma. It is so hard for the father's part to choose between the life of his son and the life of many passengers of the train. I realized then he was a very brave man I thought that if I was in that situation I really don't know what to do. Another thing is at the last part of the video there was the famous phrase from the bible from the book of John 3:16 - "For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life" it is also related in the story because the father chose to save the life of the people inside the train instead of his own son's life. After watching this video I realized that true love is really a sacrifice. He chose to save others lives instead of his own son's life even he doesn't know those people. This video also made me realize that God really loves us all even though we do things against his will he still saves us by giving up his own son. I think I don't want to encounter situations like this in my life. I really don't know how to handle these kind of situations.

The Gift of Friendship

We all start from being strangers but isn't it strange we're the best of friends now. As I go back I simply can't remember how did we end up here. We're all just classmates and then we started calling each other best friends. It's been three years from now we're all still intact. Many trials had come and go through our friendship but still we're here happy each others company. I'm so blessed to find such true friends like you all. We arrived at this moment encountering lots of problems but this one situation when I remember I always laugh out loud.
That Sunday the whole day the four of us go together at the mall to attend our school activity there. We're so happy that we doesn't think of anything but enjoying our bonding in the mall. Monday I was absent because I was so exhausted that I can't get out of my bed. I don't know what happened it was Tuesday I felt something unusual. The three of them are not talking with one another. That is when I asked them if something was wrong. That time some of my classmates told me that my three best friends were having a conflict. Then after our class that morning I talked to them trying to solve the conflict. I don't know what's going on between the three of them I don't know what's the reason because they don't want to tell me if what's wrong. That time I had an idea the three of them don't talk to one another and I'm the only one they're all talking to. So I tried not to talk with them and tried to ignore them. So after the morning class we all walk home but not making any word. I think they're really not use to it when I'm so quiet. That's why the three of them stopped in front of me and tell me exactly what happened between them the other day. They told me that lunch time on Monday they all agreed to eat lunch together but unfortunately the plan was ruined. Just because of a little misunderstanding. They agreed to wait for each other at the school's gate then they're already complete. The other one told the two that she's going home because she forgot her lunch and that her house is only a street away from the school and promised to go back. But the two misinterpret her and they thought she's not going back so they already left and had their lunch. As she comes back to the gate she didn't saw them so she decided to eat alone because the next class is near to start. The three of them met at the classroom and they hadn't spoken. As I'd learned the reason I told them that it was so nonsense and the four of us burst out with laughter and the conflict was solved.
Is it me or they just can't live a day with out me getting so noisy. So the conflict was resolved because I didn't talk. That's the part where I always laugh.
